Before you can begin offering Afterpay Payright to your customers, your website must be running version 4.0824+, and you'll need a merchant account with AfterpayPayright. Contact our support team if Commerce Vision if you'd like to request a version upgrade for your site, or to be put in touch with our Afterpay account manager.


Step-by-step guide

  1. Enable and cond
  1. Before you start, have your Afterpay Payright account credentials handy.

  2. In the CMS, navigate to Settings → Feature Management → Payment & Checkout

  3. Search for Ensure Buy Now, Pay Later , or select the Payment & Checkout tab.

  4. In the Buy Now, Pay Later feature.  (If no Configure option is visiblescreen, click the 'Contact to Enable' button and our support team will be notified of your request.)
    Scroll to the Afterpay configuration settings section. 
    Set the Mode based on whether you're configuring Afterpay for your Live site (Production), or Stage site (Sandbox).

  5. To switch on Payright for your site, toggle on Payright Enabled.

  6. In Mode, select 'Sandbox' if you are setting up Payright on your testing site (Stage), or 'Production' for your 'Live' site.

  7. Payright Activate Plan Immediately allows you to set when the user's Payright plan starts. Ensure the toggle is OFF for the Payright plan to be activated only when the order is shipped. If ON, the plan will be activated immediately after the order is placed. Note - 'OFF' is recommended by Payright. 
  8. Enter your Settings and account details provided by Payright in either 'Production Settings' or 'Sandbox Settings' depending on whether your site is Live or Stage.
    Set the following options: 

  9. Event Logging - toggle this ON (recommended).
  10. Auto-Integrate Pending Orders - integrates the orders to the ERP prior to receiving a response from Afterpay.
    Display Content in Product Detail - toggle on to show the Afterpay logo & info on the product detail page, which launches a pop-up explaining the payment option.

  11. Once you have finished entered the Settings, click Test Settings. A message telling you whether the settings are correct or not will appear. Continue if you see the Success message:

  12. Once all settings have been configured and you're ready to gotested, scroll back to the top , set the Afterpay status dropdown to Enabled, and Save.

Tip

Some other Buy Now, Pay Later payment providers ask that you specify the order and product $ values required to trigger their payment option at checkout. With Afterpay however, these values are set automatically, based on the terms of your merchant account and the user's borrowing power.

2. Setting Overrides (optional)

You can override any of the feature settings based on the user's role.

For example, you may wish to display the Afterpay Payright info box on the Product Detail page for B2C users, but not for B2B. In this case, you could set an override. 

  1. Select the 'Overrides' icon next to the setting you want to customise.
  2.  A popup will open, with your current Global setting displayed at the bottom. Click Add Override Setting in the Role Overrides section. 
  3. Enter the role name into the lookup and select the role from the options presented. 
  4. Set the role override value for this setting. 
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 if you wish to override the global behaviour for other roles. 

  6. Click Confirm to close the window. 

  7. Don't forget to click Save on the feature settings page to save your changes!

3. Configure Display Options

Options about where the Payright branding is displayed on your site and setting minimum and maximum amounts for Payright on your website are configured in the Display Options section of the Payright Settings screen.

Note

Minimum and maximum amounts set here are specific to your business requirements and act as limits for Payright display and payment options for your website. The Payright product has its own minimum and maximum limits and you should consult and  confirm with Payright before setting these limits for your site.     


  1. In Min. Price of Products to Show Content, enter the minimum amount before Payright branding informing the user they can use it as a payment option is displayed:

    Notice if a product is less than this amount, the Payright branding is accompanied by this message:

  2. In Max. Price of Products to Show Content, enter the maximum amount your site allows for Payright payments. If a product is over this amount, the accompanying message is displayed:

  3. In Min. Order Total to be Available, enter the minimum amount before your website will allow Payright to be used as payment. If an order is below this amount, the user will see this message when they click on the Payright tab during checkout:

  4. In Max. Order Total to be Available, enter the maximum amount your website allows Payright to be used as payment. If an order is above this amount, the user will see this message under the Payright tab during checkout:

  5. In Deposit Percent, enter the percentage of total order ...
