Contract Product Ribbons

Overview

Contract Product Ribbons is a standard feature on Commerce Vision websites. Instead of a general product ribbon that displays for all users, or no ribbon at all, a contract ribbon can be set against a product so that only users belonging to specified customer accounts or customer subgroups will see it. Contract ribbons highlight to such users that they qualify for a special price or bonus offer, etc, on that product.

Contract conditions are usually defned in your ERP and integrated online. However, custom online solutions can also be implemented. You can upload custom contract ribbons and add product overrides if product groups and catalogues have been used to define contract products.  

Features:

• Contract Ribbon Override: Override contract product ribbons
• Contract Ribbon Type: Create tiered or multiple contract conditions for one product, each set with its own ribbon. (This is an extension which requires Commerce Vision implementation.) 

Contract ribbons are only displayed to valid logged in users. This means included products and customer groups both need to be set for a contract ribbon flag to appear.  

Example

Add a standard contract ribbon for a product

The standard contract ribbon feature is automatically available if Ribbon Flag Maintenance is enabled. Just add the pre-defined product and customer group codes.    

1. In the CMS, go to Settings → Feature Management → Products & Categories → Product Maintenance.
   
   
2. Ensure Product Maintenance is ON and click Configure. 
   
   
3. In Feature Options, scroll down to the Ribbon checkboxes.
   
   
4. If disabled, tick Enable Maintenance of Ribbon Flag. 
    
   
5. Click Save.
   
   
6. Scroll down to Contract Ribbon Options. Any existing contract ribbons are listed. 
   
   
   
   
   
7. Go to Add Contract Ribbon Option. The values should match those used in your ERP.
   
   
   • Price Code - products with this price code to display this ribbon.
   • Contract Type - customer group to display this ribbon to. 
   • Contract Ribbon File Name - ribbon file uploader. TIP - Your Commerce Vision site comes with standard ribbons already preloaded. You can select one or create your own.  
     
     
8. To add it, click Add Contract Ribbon.
   
   
9. To save it, click Save at the top of the page.

Add a Contract Ribbon Override

Contract Ribbon Override lets you change the contract ribbon on a product flagged with a particular Price Code on your site. Example: A contract product is now backordered and you want the ribbon to alert customers.   

1. In Product Maintenance Settings, tick Enable Contract Ribbon Overrides. NOTE - Ensure Enable Maintenance of Ribbon Flag is also ticked.
   
   
   
   
2. Click Save.
   
   
3. Scroll down to Contract Ribbon Options.
   
   
4. Any existing contract ribbon has an Add Product Override button next to it. 
   
    
   
5. Click Add Product Override.
   
   
   
6. In Product Code, select the product.
   
   
7. Use Filename to upload the alternate ribbon flag.
   
8. Click Save & Exit. 
   
   
9. Check that the button has changed to Edit Product Override.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
10. Go to Add Contract Ribbon Option. The values should match those used in your ERP.
    
    
    • Price Code - products with this price code to display this ribbon.
    • Contract Type - customer type to display this ribbon to. 
    • Contract Ribbon Type - (only for 4.37+. Can be left blank). Use for extra condition value. 
    • Price Type - (only for 4.37+. Can be left blank) if used, enter extra condition value.
      
    • Contract Ribbon File Name - ribbon file uploader  

• For a contract ribbon override to display, the product's Code must be linked to the Price Code and the Customer Code, to the Contract Type code. 
• When the extra condition is specified, enter Contract Ribbon Type and Price Type as well. When a user satisfies all conditions, this alternative contract ribbon is displaye.   

1. Click Add Contract Ribbon.
   
   
2. At the top of the screen, click Save or Save & Exit.

   • Enable Maintenance of Ribbon Flag - tick to enable.
   • Enable Contract Ribbon Overrides - tick if you will be using contract ribbons that override a general product ribbon.
   • Enable Contract Ribbon Type - (for 4.37+ only) tick if allowing an extra condition has been implemented for your site. NOTE - You also need to enable Contract Ribbn Overrides.   
     
     
2. If the setting in Step 3 was changed, click Save.
